SINGLE-LEG ELONGATION

  • SINGLE-LEG ELONGATION exercise helps in the rehabilitation of facet joint and sacroiliac joint dysfunction 
  • It also helps in stretching the muscles of your lower back 
  • SINGLE-LEG ELONGATION exercise can be used in treating three-curve scoliosis. 
  • You have to perform this exercise only on the involved or affected side.

HOW TO DO SINGLE LEG ELONGATION EXERCISE?

  1. Lie down on your back with your feet wide apart approximately to hip-width and your arms by your sides, palms facing the ground.
  2. Keep your arms by your sides and pull your normal or unaffected leg up at the hip towards you in order to shorten it.
  3. Stretch the side of your lower back and your hip joint to elongate the affected leg.  
  4. Try to hold the position for 5-7 seconds and then relax.
  5. Repeat SINGLE-LEG ELONGATION exercise for 1 set of 5 reps, only on this affected side.
  6. Gradually increase the number of sets after few days when you become comfortable with the exercise
