The 2 muscles gastrocnemius and soleus in your lower leg together are known as calf muscles
If you have tight calf muscles, then it can cause an imbalance of the muscles by making your foot turn outward and increasing unwanted workload on your hip muscles.
You may also have a “flatter” gait, which can cause back pain.
CALF STRETCH exercise will help to lengthen the tight muscle and prevent muscle imbalance.
Stretching the muscle will also help to prevent ankle injuries and decrease load at the hip joint.
HOW TO DO CALF STRETCH?
Take a standing position, now press your left hand against a wall, and with your right leg take a good step backward, your feet should be hip-width apart.
Ensuring that you keep your knee over your foot, bend your left leg forward.
Change the arms and repeat the same sequence with your other leg.
