To get into bed, sit on the bed with both your arms on
either side of you. Lower yourself down onto one side by leaning on your elbow
and then putting your head down onto the pillow, along with raising your legs
up onto the bed.
To get out of bed without much strain, try the sequence in
reverse: lie on your either side and raise your head from the pillow, put your
legs down on the floor and use your arm to lift yourself up to get in a sitting
position.
Make a habit of following these steps in order to avoid back
pain.
