PRESS-UP EXERCISE
- PRESS UP exercise is useful for self-traction of your upper and lower back muscles that help to elongate your spine.
- Press up exercise is also considered helpful in various back conditions and is good for desk workers as a general maintenance stretch.
- PRESS UP exercise can also help in activating of latissimus dorsi, a major back muscle.
HOW TO DO PRESS UP EXERCISE?
1. While sitting on a chair, hold the outside edges of the seat with your hands and place them roughly in line with your shoulders.
2. Pushing down with your hands, try to relax your back, breathing in and out slowly, and allow your pelvis to drop so that your back elongates.
3. Hold for 5 secs. and go down to the start position
4. Repeat the movement 5 times initially, slowly, and gently.
5. As you notice improvement gradually increase the number of repetition
