The correct way to use the computer to avoid back and neck pain.
USING A COMPUTER
This is what we are prone to do......aren't we?
This is how we are supposed to sit to avoid stress on the back and neck.
Simple rules to avoid some of the common problems associated
with working at a computer:
Your monitor and keyboard should be placed directly in front
of you.
Support your hands and wrists properly to keep them aligned.
Set up your monitor in such a way that the screen is an arm’s length far from you and the toolbars are at eye level.
Avoid constantly looking down by using a hard copyholder
Zoom in to enlarge the text instead of leaning on the screen
and get your eyes tested.
The mouse should be kept near but with some space to move it
freely.
Your elbows should be vertical under your shoulders and
close to the sides of your body, or on an armrest.
The feet should be flat on the floor and your knees slightly
below your hips.
Ensure that there is adequate space between the back of your
knees and the edge of the chair—approximately the width of three fingers—to
allow free movements of legs.
Avoid crossing your
legs under your desk as this results in a poor hip position.
