When you pack your things try to distribute the items among
several bags and balance the weight, then spread the weight so that you carry equal weight in each hand.
For the one carrying a single heavier item, such as a laptop
or file, a side bag that can be worn across your body, or a backpack is a good choice.
Select a bag with a wide strap and keep the weight close to the
body.
Keep swapping the bag from one shoulder to the other
occasionally.
Use a table as a halfway point while putting the bag on and
taking them off to avoid strain.
